Industrial Development Board applications open through Sept. 8

AUBURN, Ala.- The Auburn City Council is accepting applications to fill two vacancies on the Industrial Development Board. The terms will begin on Oct. 10 and end Oct. 9, 2031.
The Industrial Development Board serves as a financing conduit for industrial revenue bonds to aid in planning for industrial development in Auburn. The board may acquire, enlarge, improve, replace, own, lease and dispose of properties to promote industry and trade, provide employment opportunities and encourage investment in the community.
The board consists of nine members who serve six-year terms. To qualify for appointment, applicants must be qualified electors of the City of Auburn, must be a taxpayer in the City of Auburn and may not be an officer or employee of the municipality. The board meets as needed.
Those interested in serving are invited to apply online using the link at auburnal.gov/boards. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Sept. 8. The City Council will make appointments at its Sept. 16 meeting.
